The Calgary Presbytery
Welcome to Calgary Presbytery Online. Our goal is to
help you find the information you need about our
congregations, and news about what’s happening in our
churches and beyond.
So what the heck is a Presbytery? Well, we believe
the local congregation is The Place where ministry
happens, where people connect with The Holy Mystery
and with each other, where people can come when
they’re hurting and alone, or when they’re looking for
a community of kindred spirits.
The Presbytery is a part of the wider church governing
structure which surrounds the congregation with
support, encouragement, resources, mentoring and
training, and sometimes challenge. We’re there to
provide connection with the wider church, and the
world.
Twenty-eight diverse and unique United Church
congregations form the collective known as “Calgary
Presbytery”.
